We had great fun as around fifteen of us gathered at Yew Lane to weave willow plant supports and do various other garden jobs to prepare for the coming Spring. We will be holding more work days in the coming months as well as hopefully more willow weaving here at Yew Lane and at other places in Parson Cross.
The Willow Weaving was helped by artist Charlie Hill and funded by Community First (CDF) monies from Southey Panel.
You’re invited to join us for a work day (indoors and in the gardens) as Peter Hurley (PXI) and Charlie Hill work alongside local families and young people to create a new willow structure in the front garden. We’ll even put on some soup to share at lunchtime.
We’ll be meeting at Yew Lane from 10am, but feel free to join us when you can and for how long you can; we’ll be eating around 1pm. We’ve got all the equipment so you just need to come along – don’t forget to wrap up warm if you’re going to be outside. Ideally we’d like all children to be with an adult.
